How to define start and stop points in YouTube videos?

Descriptions
When creating content for your audience, video is by far the most captivating. If you have a WordPress site, all you need to do is plug in the embed code and voila - people can view the video on your website.

But sometimes we only want to share the important parts or the highlights.

Start and stop videos at specific points

Sharing and embedding are two different things, and so the steps to do them are slightly different.

Sharing YouTube videos

Head over to YouTube and find the video you want to share. Let's take this video as an example.

Find the part you want to highlight - where you want the video to start and stop. Convert those values into seconds.
Example: You want to highlight 01:30-02:10 of the video. In seconds that would be 90-130.

Edit the URL so it transforms from this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCvms..., to this
https://www.youtube.com/v/iCvmsMzlF7o...

Delete '?watch'
Replace the '=' with '/'
Add '?start=x' and '&end=y', where x = starting point in seconds and y=end point in seconds.

When you go to the new URL, the video will show up in full screen and start and stop at the defined points.

Embedding YouTube videos

Find the video you want to embed. Let's use the same video above.

Click on Share, then Embed

Click Show more, then check Show player controls only.

Copy the highlighted code.

Go to your site and create a new post/page.

View it in HTML layout tab and paste the code.

Edit the code. Click this link to view the code (brackets aren't allowed in the description)

On that last step, you need to add 'start=x&end=y&' where x = starting point in seconds and y=end point in seconds.

There you have it! What videos are you going to embed in your website? Remember to do the steps above so you can quickly give the information your audience needs.

Video - How to Remove leading and trailing spaces from text in Excel?

Summary
When you bring data into Excel you sometimes end up with extra spaces and line breaks. This short video shows you how to clean things up with TRIM and CLEAN.

Video Transcript
When you bring data into Excel you sometimes end up with extra spaces and other characters that cause problems. Excel contains two functions that can help you clean things up.

Let's take a look.

Here we have a list of movies titles that were copied in from some other system. You can see there's a problem with extra space characters.

Not only are there extra spaces between words, there are also extra spaces at the beginning and end of some of the titles.

Excel contains a special text function called TRIM that is designed to fix this problem.

TRIM takes one argument, the text you want to process. In this case, we just need to add a reference to the titles in column C, then copy the formula down.

The result is a set of cleaned up titles without extra spaces. Notice that TRIM replaces multiple spaces between words with a single space. Hoever, spaces at the beginning or and of the text are completely removed.

On the next sheet, we have a different problem -- line breaks that appear inside the movie titles. Again, Excel has a function called CLEAN designed for just this problem.

Like TRIM, CLEAN takes a single argument. When I give it a reference to the movie titles and copy the formula down, all line breaks are removed.

Technically, the CLEAN function removes only the first 32 nonprinting characters in 7-bit ASCII. There are situations where you'll need to use more advanced techniques to remove non-printing characters.

Finally, what if you have text that contains both extra spaces and non-printing characters like line breaks?

In that case, you can simply wrap the text in both functions. I'll first use CLEAN to remove non-printing characters, then wrap CLEAN in TRIM to remove extra spaces after TRIM is done.

The result is a set of titles without extra spaces or line breaks.

With both of these techniques, you may want to replace the original text with the version you cleaned up. This is a good job for paste special.

Just copy the cleaned-up version and use paste special > Values to overwrite the orignal. Then simply delete the formulas.

How to Remove leading and trailing spaces from text in Excel?

If you need to strip leading and trailing spaces from text in one or more cells, you can use the TRIM function
.

In the example show, the formula in cell C3 is:
=TRIM(B3)
Once you've removed extra spaces, you can copy the cells with formulae and paste special elsewhere as "values" to get the final text.
  • How this formula works
    • The TRIM function is fully automatic. It removes removes both leading and trailing spaces from text, and also "normalizes" multiple spaces between words to one space character only. All you need to do is supply a reference to a cell.
TRIM with CLEAN
If you also need to remove line breaks from cells, you can add the CLEAN function like so:
=TRIM(CLEAN(text))
The CLEAN function removes a range of non-printing characters, including line breaks, and returns "cleaned" text. The TRIM function then takes over to remove extra spaces and returns the final text.

Is HTML plain text file? - HTML

    • HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It’s the way web pages us to display or handle things like bold, italics and even color text red.
    • Plain text is, well, it’s plain.
    • Switching isn’t hard, if you know where to look.
    • Plain text has no formatting. Plain text typically looks very plain.
    • HTML started as a way to describe how web pages should look. It includes ways to specify formatting, colors, positioning, and some amount of layout.
    • So, it can be concluded that HTML not plain text file.

How to set or clear a print area on a worksheet Excel?

How to set or clear a print area on a worksheet Excel?

If you print a specific selection on a worksheet frequently, you can define a print area that includes just that selection. A print area is one or more ranges of cells that you designate to print when you don't want to print the entire worksheet. When you print a worksheet after defining a print area, only the print area is printed. You can add cells to expand the print area as needed, and you can clear the print area to print the entire worksheet.

A worksheet can have multiple print areas. Each print area will print as a separate page.

NOTE:  The screen shots in this article were taken in Excel 2013. If you have a different version your view might be slightly different, but unless otherwise noted, the functionality is the same.
    • What do you want to do?
      • Set one or more print areas
      • Add cells to an existing print area
      • Clear a print area

Set one or more print areas
    1. On the worksheet, select the cells that you want to define as the print area.
      • TIP: To set multiple print areas, hold down the Ctrl key and click the areas you want to print. Each print area prints on its own page.
    2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Print Area, and then click Set Print Area.

NOTE: The print area that you set is saved when you save the workbook.

To see all the print areas to make sure they’re the ones you want, click View > Page Break Preview in the Workbook Views group. When you save your workbook, the print area is saved too.

Add cells to an existing print area

You can enlarge the print area by adding adjacent cells. If you add cells that aren’t adjacent to the print area, Excel creates a new print area for those cells.
    1. On the worksheet, select the cells that you want to add to the existing print area.
      • NOTE: If the cells that you want to add are not adjacent to the existing print area, an additional print area is created. Each print area in a worksheet is printed as a separate page. Only adjacent cells can be added to an existing print area.
    2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Print Area, and then click Add to Print Area.

When you save your workbook, the print area is saved as well.

    Clear a print area

NOTE: If your worksheet contains multiple print areas, clearing a print area removes all the print areas on your worksheet.
    1. Click anywhere on the worksheet for which you want to clear the print area.
    2. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Clear Print Area.

When you save your workbook, the print area is saved as well.

How to Hide Excel Formulae and Protect Worksheet in Spreadsheet

How to Hide Excel Formula and Protect Worksheet in Spreadsheet / Ms Excel

    • Luckily, Excel makes it fairly simple to hide formulas. Just follow the steps below.
    • Hide the Formulas
    • By default, when you click on a cell, its formula appears in the formula bar (as shown in the image).
    •
    • To hide formulas:

      • Select the cells for which you to want to hide the formulas.
      • Right-click the cell (or cells) and choose Format Cells.
      • In the Format Cells dialog box, click the Protection tab.
      • Check the Hidden box (as shown in the image)

      • Note: Hidden is what prevents the user from seeing the formula. Locked prevents the user from changing the contents of the cell. Locked is set by default.
      • And click OK.

      Protect the Sheet

      • Important Step: Setting the cell format to hidden has no effect until you protect the sheet!
      • On the Review ribbon, click Protect Sheet.
      • In the Protect Sheet dialog box, type a password. No one (including yourself) will be able to unprotect the sheet to make changes without typing the password, so do not forget the password!
      •
      • Click OK
      • In the Confirm Password dialog box, Excel asks you to retype the password you selected. This prevents a typographical error in the password from locking up your spreadsheet forever. Retype the password and click OK.
      • That’s it! The formulas in your worksheet are now protected, and your users cannot see or edit the formulas. To verify it, click on a formula: (As shown in the image).
      •
      • The formula no longer appears in the formula bar.
